Severe corrosion across the blower assembly

The removed blower assembly had extensive corrosion across the wheel, housing, and mounting structure. The close-up photos show how severely the connected metal components had deteriorated.

These are the actual components removed during the repair. The photos document their condition before the replacement assembly was installed.

02 · The repair

Motor, wheel, and housing replaced together

We replaced the complete blower motor, blower wheel, and blower housing. These three parts work together: the motor turns the wheel, the wheel moves air, and the housing helps direct that airflow through the HVAC system.

03 · Why it mattered

Several connected parts were affected

When corrosion affects several connected blower components, replacing only one part may leave other weakened pieces in service. In this case, replacing the complete assembly removed all three severely corroded components together.

Severe corrosion can weaken blower-wheel blades and support points, contribute to imbalance or vibration, and interfere with dependable airflow. The correct repair depends on the measured condition of the complete assembly—not just the first damaged part that is visible.

Changes in sound, vibration, or airflow deserve attention

Blower problems can have several causes and require professional diagnosis. Contact an HVAC professional if you notice a meaningful change in system operation, including:

  • Scraping, rattling, or grinding sounds
  • Unusual vibration during operation

  • A blower that starts, stops, or fails to run normally

Leave blower inspection to a trained technician

Blower assemblies contain electrical connections, moving parts, and potentially sharp corroded metal. Do not remove equipment panels or reach inside the system. If you are concerned about the condition of your HVAC equipment, turn it off and schedule a professional inspection.

A qualified technician can determine whether maintenance, repair, or replacement is appropriate after inspecting and testing the system.
